About
Terre Haute Ministries (THM) has been created to be the organizing source of community ministry in our city.
The mission of THM is to engage in Christian ministry, primarily in Terre Haute and Vigo County, Indiana by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with existing ministries and by providing programs and activities that will relieve human suffering and foster human wholeness, growth, and development. Â Such programs and activities shall be provided without race, color, creed, religion, or national origin. Â THM has been organized as a visible expression of the intentions of Jesus Christ, who prayed that his disciples may be united (John 17:11, 22) and who taught that when his followers feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, and visit those who are sick or in prison, they are rendering service directly to Him (Matthew 25:31-46). Â While the churches that participate in THM may differ in doctrine and practice of worship, they desire to cooperate and collaborate in mission, as described above, demonstrating that the broader church, “the body of Christ”, can be and is unified in mission. Â United does not mean sameness: each participating congregation and group has different characteristics. Â Yet all members and participants in THM can be unified in their goals and aspirations for the good of the broader Terre Haute community. Â As different parts of the “body,” each is important if the “body” is to be fully functional (1 Corinthians 12).
THM is an association of congregations that are communicating, coordinating, and cooperating in order to share our resources to meet the needs of our community.
