History

Terre Haute Ministries started when former mayor Kevin Burke invited a group of pastors to see if churches could work together to better impact the needs of the city.  THM was still in formation phase when the floods of June 2008 hit the Wabash Valley. WVDRC THM was then mobilized into action to help take care of the needs of those effected by the floods with the resources and connections from all of the area churches.  THM partnered with the Wabash Valley Long Term Disaster Recovery Coalition (WVLTDRC) on rebuilding our city after the disaster.  It was a great first step in showing what the Body of Christ in the community could accomplish when they worked together.  THM not only helped our city recover from disaster but in Sept of 2008 also helped Floyd County in its time of need.  THM along with WVLTDRC helped coordinate a food drive for the victims of Hurricane Ike in the Southern Indiana county.  Much of the county was without power for days and the food drive helped those in need during the time of distress.

THM has since moved into other areas of community ministry.  THM has partnered with Lifeline 211 to meet regular needs of our community, with the use of a software tool called Charity Tracker.  Charity Tracker allows each THM member church to track needs that are being met.  However, THM is not only working on the physical needs in Terre Haute but also partnering with area churches to push for spiritual transformation in our city.
